Ring of Honor Wrestling (11/11/15)
Tonight’s commentators are Kevin Kelly and ROH Matcmaker Nigel McGuiness. Steve Corino is still out, but we will have more word on him next Wednesday.
Match #1: Cedric Alexander w/ Veda Scott vs. ACH: Veda is still anrgy at ROH, even when the fans throw streamers. Lots of back and forth in the early moments, but Cedric gets advantage after Veda prevents ACH from a “crash and burn” dive allowing Cedric to hit an STO on the ring apron (OUCH!). Cedric Alexander controls the match, but ACH hits an STO into the turnbuckle. ACH finally hits a “crash and burn” dive after putting Veda in front of Cedric’s suicide dive. Both men used super kicks and spinning heel kicks; Cedric tries to hit a springboard dive, but slips off the turnbuckle, allowing ACH to hit the 450 splash for the win.
Veda and Cedric argue with Nigel about the slippery turnbuckle and Scott cites that he is negligent in his duties to ROH.
Match #2: Will Ferrera vs. Caprice Coleman : Before the match, Caprice gives Will props for his match against NJPW’s Kushida at the last ROH-NJPW event. This match displays Ferrera’s quickness and Caprice’s reversals. During the match, Prince Nana appears and watches both men-at one ROH show, he hands Caprice Coleman an envelope. Ferrera’s should hits the ring post and Caprice, who would have checked on him, throws him into it again! WHAT?! He then slaps on a shoulder armbar called Judgement’s Seat and gets the win. After the match, Nana hands Ferrera a similar envelope.
Kevin Kelly talks to Prince Nana to get questions about his envelopes to Coleman and Ferrera, but Prince Nana evades the question. Do I sense The Embassy return?
Main Event: All Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King) vs. The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe): This match is a rematch from ROH’s ALL-STAR EXTRAVAGANZA which saw ANX return and defeat The Briscoes. There were lots of pops for both teams and both were aggressive for a win, especially in ROH’s Tag Team Division, which I will say is a lot better than WWE’s Tag Team!! During the match, Mark Briscoe performs a suicide dive on Kenny King, but back in the ring King hits him with a heel kick and drop kick’s Jay. Rhett hits Mark with a facebuster from the top rope. The Briscoes and ANX try to hit their respective finishers (Briscoe’s Doomsday Device and ANX’s One Night Stand) and both teams reversed. In the end Jay hits the Jay Driller on Rhett followed by Mark’s Froggy Bottom for the win. Both sides shake hands after the match. This match was my favorite in the show.
Next Wednesday, The Kingdom’s Michael Bennett and Matt Taven put the ROH World Tag Team titles on the line against former champions Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, The Addiction! Plus, I will review either a Starrcade or Survivor Series of THAT WRESTLING SHOW’s choice. Check out the Facebook page to make your selection.
Have a good weekend everyone!
